All Epic "Glass" rods are produced from industry leading 8 micron Unidirectional S-2 Glass. This next generation fiber is specifically engineered for fly rod production and features 8 micronfibers developed and produced in the USA. These fibres are almost half the diameter of other unidirectional materials, resulting in tighter, more precise and stronger fly rods.SnakeBelly™
SnakeBelly™ delivers the toughest exterior finish possible. After production, blanks are first painted and then clear coated. This two step process produces blanks that are incredibly scratch resistant and durable.SureFit Ferule™

Epic glass rods are incredibly tough. Our S2 FastGlass II has a far higher strength-to-weight ratio than Carbon fibre (graphite) rods. Epic FastGlass rods can endure more acute and severe bends than the equivalent Carbon fibre or even regular S2 glass, tip sections are stronger and far less susceptible to breakages due to high-sticking and problematic rod angles when pulling against load.

Kits are well organised, instructions easy to follow. Addition Youtube resources make life even easier. Love the rod, have just spent 3 days out with it catching trout and its works a treat.

FFirst, let me start off by saying that I am no craftsman. I think it's fair to say that on any objective scale my ability to build things would be firmly seated towards the bottom end of said scale. That being said, the purchase of the Epic 476 Fastglass rod building kit stands as one of the better decisions I have made in quite some time. Everything except the rod turner, alcohol, bobbin, and razor blades were included in the kit, the printed instructions, as well as a multitude of Epic rod building videos available on YouTube walked me step by step through the process, and made what looked to be a daunting task seem easy. I spent a couple of hours per night and it was completed in just over two weeks. Even better it looks fantastic. Cannot wait to use it on my local limestoners, and western creeks! Thanks for making this build so straightforward, and easy (even for a guy with ten thumbs). I am simply amazed at how great it looks and casts!
