After production, blanks are first painted and then clear coated. This ferule system is so precise that parts interchange between models. Gone are the days of having to return a broken section to the manufacturer or outlet where you purchased from. Breakages can be addressed by simply sending out the replacement part.

100% Carbon Construction.
The carbon helix core boasts true 100% carbon construction. These blanks contain no scrim.
100% Uni-directional material - Non Woven.
Super light-weight construction and superior strength. Non woven Uni-directional material is up to 40% stronger than traditional woven material commonly used by fly rod manufacturers. A non woven fiber can achieve 100% of its tensile and compressive loading. Unidirectional material affords super light weight construction and superior strength.
Carbon Helix.
The helical core forms the basis for hoop strength and fibre support in the zero/longitudinal axis and does away with traditional scrim based construction.
Silica nano-resin. Super Low Resin Systems.
Utilising materials with resin content up to 30% less than conventional materials, Epic C series blanks are lighter and stronger. Low resin materials help increase bending limits & overall response.
Multi Carbon Construction (Multi modulus).
Using only the highest quality fabrics from USA, Japan and Korea, up to five different types of carbon are used in each blank. Each type is placed at various parts of the blank to optimize strength and weight. Ultra high modulus fibre boasts the highest tensile and compressive strength of any fibre in its class.
Internal High Strength Ferrule.
A high strength internal ferrule is placed at each join to provide superior crush and split resistance.
Target Zero Fibre Alignment.
Fibre alignment along the length of any blank is critical. Even the smallest deviation in fibre alignment from the axis of load will greatly reduce the strength of the blank. All Epic blanks are designed and produced to ensure all fiber is aligned as near perfect as can be with the load
Two pack Marine Grade Paint system.

United StatesThis is the finest 8 weight that I've ever fished with. Super light in hand and effortless to cast all day long. The highest compliment that I can give this rod is that I don't have to think about making any adjustments. I just focus on fishing. The cast just happens without thinking about it.
United StatesI’m always looking for a great 8 weight rod that can finesse a large nymph or smaller streamer on the flats (carp and bonefish) but can muscle out a large, heavy dredging streamer on the river for smallmouth...and to do both styles, well. Having glowing reviews of Epic’s carbon fiber online and having built the 590 for customers in the past, I decided to give the rest of the lineup a try. The blank is of the highest quality that is to be expected by Epic. There is not much more to say about the customer service and the product that hasn’t been said...but I’m going to, anyway. It’s excellent from start to finish. Absolutely flawless construction and fit and finish. The most notable thing about the blank when it arrived was the smaller diameter of the blank compared to most blanks of the same size. It does not feel lacking and is very solid. Then I wondered if the rod would be TOO fast. After the build these concerns were quickly dispersed as the flex profile of this rod is spot-on. It’s fast and the rod loads perfectly for the task at hand. I’ve tried carp and bonefish flies which are thrown with very tight loops into the wind. Or, heavily weighted bass streamers with ease. The loop control is fantastic. Better yet, it’s very intuitive and you don’t have to think about it....it just happens. Which, in my mind, is the true mark of a fantastic rod. I was planning on selling this rod in my shop after I built it but after some experience with it, I signed my name in ink and chose to keep it as a personal rod and to use it as a demo for the public. It’s the perfect combination of power-finesse that is a pleasure to cast and its a remarkable fish-fighting rod.
