"It’s this feature of the Bandit that blew my mind when I began testing it: It will happily cast any line from a 6wt DT to a 12wt Rio OBS, with the sweet spot between 8wt and 10wt. Since it can load itself during casts with light lines, a 6wt line put over it seems to feel somewhat like casting a (heavy) 6wt CF rod. At the other end of the spectrum, the 12wt did bog it down somewhat, but the reserve of power in the big butt section will pull it through without complaint. I liken it to a big V8 diesel engine with low-end torque that’s a pleasure to draw into." Read the complete review here
All Epic FastGlass® rods are produced from industry leading 8 micron Unidirectional S-2 Glass. This next generation fiber is specifically engineered for fly rod production and features 8 micron fibers developed and produced for us in the USA. This material applied to our Epic tapers delivers tighter, lighter and more precise fly rods.
Delivers the toughest exterior finish possible. After production, blanks are first painted and then clear coated. This two step process produces blanks that are incredibly scratch resistant and durable.
The reel has arrived for the Bandit and I think it goes well with the rod. Very enjoyable experience building it. Can't wait to fish with it but alas Queensland's border with NSW closes tonight.
Might have to fill in the time building another rod for Tassie.
everything was perfect, from the order to the delivery! And what about the blank of the rod, I have no word to describe and I m so in hurry to try it.
The notice is clear and quite easy to use.
Don't hesitate to try an Epic adventure
Fantastic rod, top quality components fun to build and fish with. Great support from the Swift Team. Casts a 10wt and big pike fly with ease with plenty of power to handle big fish. Landing fish on this rod Really puts a smile on your face! Looking forward to my next Epic glass rod!
I finished my Epic Bandit some days ago and tested it with diffrent lines. I am used to heavy rods for pike for many years - but this is new to me. Such a great "fly rod feeling" but a very strong backbone too and it can handle very very big flies with ease.
This rod is just awesome!!!
I am very impressed about the hole set-up. The blank is super high quality - the reel seat, the cork, the guides everything PERFECT.
Swift - keep up your great work.
