FastGlass II™
All Epic "Glass" rods are produced from industry leading 8 micron Unidirectional S-2 Glass. This next generation fiber is specifically engineered for fly rod production and features 8 micronfibers developed and produced in the USA. These fibres are almost half the diameter of other unidirectional materials, resulting in tighter, more precise and stronger fly rods.
SnakeBelly™
SnakeBelly™ delivers the toughest exterior finish possible. After production, blanks are first painted and then clear coated. This two step process produces blanks that are incredibly scratch resistant and durable.
SureFit Ferule™
Break a tip? we've got you covered This ferule system is so precise that breakages can be addressed by simply sending out the replacement part. Gone are the days of having to return a broken section.
Built Epic Tough
Epic glass rods are incredibly tough. Our S2 FastGlass II has a far higher strength-to-weight ratio than Carbon fibre (graphite) rods. Epic FastGlass rods can endure more acute and severe bends than the equivalent Carbon fibre or even regular S2 glass, tip sections are stronger and far less susceptible to breakages due to high-sticking and problematic rod angles when pulling against load.

Very high quality components, better cork than I've seen on some real high end rods. The kit comes with everything you need and if you are a beginner the booklet with instructions and tips is very valuable. One small minus and it's a very small one. No hook keeper. Some people do not put them on their build but I'm old school and like one on mine.
The DIY kits are really well thought out with everything you need supplied, including helpful instructions. I am the proud owner of a few of these Epic rod builds and have always enjoyed the results I achieved.
While daunting at first, once I got into it I found the building fun and very rewarding. Other than some masking tape and an India ink pen, everything I needed was in the kit. The instructions are very thorough and I didn’t find myself looking externally for extra info. I was blown away with the finish I was able to get. I’m really glad I built my own rod, it’s something I’d thought about for ages. If you’re considering it, just do it, you won’t be disappointed.
I have not started building my kit yet but it is clear from the quality of the parts and the clear instruction that I have a an enjoyable task ahead.
I was a bit nervous about buying this as I have never built a full rod before, only done a couple of functional repairs. But I decided to go for it and I am very glad I did - great service, excellent quality components and help when I needed it. It was straight forward to assemble with the excellent instructions. Fished the rod for the first time yesterday and christened it with a lovely 10” wild brownie. It was great to cast and fish with. Highly recommend the experience, one I will look to repeat as and when the need for another rod occurs.
