This rod is absolutely outstanding! I've been using the 6wt 690G for the last couple of weeks in the Patagonia region, and the experience so far is great. The harsh weather was not a problem to cast huge streamers with precision.
It was an indulgence, but how pleased I am! After 50 plus years of fly fishing, I'm enjoying a an Epic "gem". Light, powerful & highly responsive. After just a couple of outings several trout (foolish?) have fallen for its charms...............
What a awesome set up the rod so beautiful to look at all the finishing is really stunning, the first day of use was at the Haka River and it was a dream to use. I have a few rods and this is by far the most powerful I have used. Roll on my first trip to the Mid Canterbury Lakes.
This is a quality fly rod with a unique action resulting in my fishing enjoyment being taken to another level.
I have only been casting with this rod reel and line on land, the feeling was just amazing absolute control easily given, by a rod reel and line that works as a synchronised unit. Hopefully I will be on New Zealand streams in November. Pat O'Dwyer PS I ordered another exactly the same system for fishing in Tasmania.
