Epic Fly Rods Warranty & Replacement Policy
At Epic Fly Rods, we stand behind the quality of our products.
For the original owner, Epic Fly Rods warrants its rods, blanks and rod-building kits against defects in materials and workmanship for the serviceable lifetime of the product.
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and assessment by Epic Fly Rods. In most cases, we'll need to see photos and details of the product before determining whether an issue is covered under warranty.
It's worth noting that if a rod has been fished successfully on multiple occasions and later breaks during normal use, it is unlikely to be the result of a manufacturing defect.
What Does the Warranty Cover?
The warranty covers the repair or replacement of Epic-supplied components found to be defective due to materials or workmanship.
The warranty applies to the Epic product originally purchased.
A blank is warranted as a blank, a Ready-to-Wrap kit as a kit, and an Epic factory-built rod as a factory-built rod.
If you build a rod from an Epic blank or kit — or have someone build it for you — our warranty covers the Epic components we supplied. It does not cover third-party components or someone else's rod-building workmanship.
A blank or rod-building kit does not become an Epic factory-built rod for warranty or replacement purposes.
If an original component is no longer available, Epic will determine an appropriate remedy based on the product originally purchased and the availability of compatible components.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and does not cover:
- Accidental damage
- Misuse or abuse
- Neglect or improper care
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications
- Normal wear and tear
- Products that have reached the end of their serviceable life
The warranty also excludes any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from the use of the product.
Warranty Replacements
A product supplied as a warranty replacement is the remedy for the original purchase and does not start a new Lifetime Warranty.
If the replacement itself has a genuine defect in materials or workmanship, we'll put it right. However, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, age, or the later discontinuation of a replacement product do not create an entitlement to another new product.
We support Epic products for as long as we reasonably can, but we can't guarantee the availability of replacement sections, components or products indefinitely.
Our Breakage Support Programme
Let's be honest — rod breakages happen.
Whether it's a tumble on the riverbank, a poorly timed high-stick, weighted nymph strike, or the classic car-door incident, most anglers have a story or two.
We don't believe in making money from these situations. Our goal is simply to get you back on the water as quickly and affordably as possible.
For breakages that aren't covered under warranty, replacement sections for current and supported models are available for USD $80 per section, plus shipping.
If a replacement section is no longer available, we'll do our best to help find a sensible solution. At our discretion, this may include a goodwill discount toward a current Epic product.
Goodwill offers are not part of the Lifetime Warranty and do not create an entitlement to a replacement product or future discount.
If you've damaged your rod, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
Returns & Exchanges
If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days for a full refund or exchange.
Return shipping, and any shipping costs or import fees associated with exchanges, are the responsibility of the customer.
We believe in producing the very highest quality product we can. We believe buying cheap is a poor investment, it's bad for you, bad for the industry and bad for the planet.
