Every year my friend Christian & his lovely wife Tina travel from Germany to New Zealand to fish, last year when they returned home Christian took 3 Epic blanks with him to build up into rods for some of his New Zealand mates.
The chosen few were Bob Wyatt, Dan Isbister and I'm very happy to say, your's truly.
Christian is a man of many talents, one of those being his exquisitely crafted bamboo fly rods which can be seen on his website Splitting the Cane
Prior to him leaving after last season I mentioned that I'd quite fancy a stacked bamboo reel seat - only half joking...
Well here it is, the most exquisite thing I think I've ever seen.
Thank you Christian ;)

The slim beauty is one of the most popular fly fishing knots in use today. It is a great knot for connecting class tippets to shock tippets as well as tippet sections to butt sections. This knot is strong, easy to tie on the water, and has a very low profile.
It is the end of the fishing season in Patagonia Argentina. Two of my buddies, Marcos Hlace, Diego Soto and myself decided to fish for the mighty migratory trout at the upper Limay River, a must to at least once in a life time.
